Fall’s Silent Song

How much my life
Is like that leaf
In glowing glory
Twirling there.

In spring as bud
I drew strength
From my age old
Family tree.

In summer’s green
I paid back their
Precious gift
A hundred fold.

Now in my fall, I wait,
That blustering day
I twirl free, back to
Nourishing ground-

A bit of Star Stuff
Now in winters cold
Waiting a new role
In life’s old drama.
