The Secret Beauty of Rocks

Wondering Wahkeena
Out to find autumn’s colors.
Bent to see a fallen leaf
Rising caught a glimpse
Of an overhang’s underside,
There in perfect light
A mélange of color
Green moss, yellows, reds
Orange and purple too
Even tiny threads of blue,
A swirling palette of
Rock’s silent serenade.
